Jakarta, TheIndonesiaPost – Today, the South Sumatra Provincial Government received a second-ranking award from the Indonesian Central Statistics Agency (BPS RI) for its achievement as the best online census participant in Indonesia.
In his speech, Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru said that he was proud of this, according to him, BPS South Sumatra had worked very well considering the current conditions being hit by a pandemic but it did not limit BPS Sumsel to keep working and this was a proud result of the hard work that had been done.
“We turned out to be great, we are often unable to see and be proud of ourselves, as we experience now, from all the provinces in Indonesia we can occupy the second position,” he said.
Besides that HD also said that the achievements obtained by BPS Sumsel today cannot be separated from the participation of the provincial government with a village internet program that makes it easy for the community to conduct an online census and the participation of the regency/city government that has educated their community to participate in conducting the census.
“In this case I acknowledge the greatness carried out by South Sumatra BPS because in the midst of the pandemic that we are experiencing they are still able to work with limited access and succeed with the 2nd notch from all of Indonesia,” said HD.
The event was followed by the awarding of an award certificate from the Central BPS represented by the Head of South Sumatra BPS, Ir. Endang Sri Ningsih, M.M. and continued by submitting the award certificate to the Regency / City BPS for the achievement of the census above the target.
