Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The COVID-19 Task Force reported that as of Tuesday, the rate of injection of the third dose or booster vaccine had been given to 27.63 percent of the total population targeted for COVID-19 vaccination, namely 208,265,720 (208.27 million) people.
The press release from the COVID-19 Task Force received in Jakarta, Tuesday, showed that the number of people who had received the three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine increased by 27,786 to 57,553,217 (57.55 million).
Meanwhile, the population who received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine increased by 8,135 people to 170,322,263 (170,32 million) or 81.78 percent of the total target.
While the recipients of the first dose increased by 16,668 people to reach 202,772,014 (202.77 million) people or equivalent to 97.36 percent of the total target.
On Tuesday, the Task Force noted that there were an addition of 6,276 COVID-19 cases in Indonesia, 4,850 patients recovered and 18 patients died from COVID-19.
Nationally, the number of active cases rose by 1,408 cases to 51,041 active cases.
Director General of Disease Prevention and Control at the Ministry of Health, Maxi Rein Rondonuwu, said that the government is still focused on achieving the achievement of the third dose of vaccination.
“We first finish the first booster, which is still low, still 30 percent. That was done first so that the risk of severe pain can be anticipated,” he said.
Maxi said the average rate of COVID-19 cases to date is around 4,000 people infected in the last 24 hours. (ojn/bbs)
