HD Accompanies the TNI Commander in Reviewing the Garuda Shield Joint Drills

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru (HD) welcomed the arrival of the Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces, General TNI Andika Perkasa on the ground of Sriwijaya with the agenda of reviewing the Hirain / C-Rain training activities Garuda Shield Joint Exercise (Latma) – 16/2022 in the context of Super Garuda Shield 2022 Matra Air.

The Joint Drills (Latma) activity between the Indonesian Air Force and the American Army was carried out at the Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport in Palembang.

Through this opportunity, the National Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander, General TNI Andika Perkasa said that the training was held in order to increase flight hours and increase experience which would later be used as evaluation material for the unit itself.

He also explained that this exercise was conducted for the first time by the Air Force, where the Army’s Canon Field Artillery System (AD) which weighs up to 18.4 tons can be moved mobile using a C30 Hercules aircraft to the point where the weapon is needed.

“This is a historic day for the Indonesian Armed Forces, where the training operation this time involved the American Army. This is also the first time the Army’s defense equipment, namely the 155 mm Canon caliber system field artillery weapon with a weight of 18.4 tons, was transferred mobile by inserting it into the Hercules Aircraft. C30 goes to a location that requires the weapon. And of course this will increase flight hours for personnel involved in the exercise,” he explained.
