The core area of the government center of the National Capital City combines residential and commercial

Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said that in the core area of the central government of the National Capital City (IKN) Nusantara will implement a balanced development between residential and commercial areas.

“In the three clusters of Central Government Core Areas (KIPP), each uses a mix between residential and commercial. So hopefully this city is not just a government, it will be quiet and then expensive,” said Basuki in an online discussion at Home Archipelago “Towards the Capital City New Country” which was monitored in Jakarta, Wednesday.

Basuki explained that the KIPP covering an area of 6,671 hectares in IKN Nusantara is divided into three clusters, namely the core government area cluster, the education cluster, and the health cluster.

According to him, each cluster is designed to meet the needs of residential and commercial areas. It is intended that the development of the city does not only contain the center of government only. However, development at IKN Nusantara still pays attention to the availability of existing green land.

“This 6,671 hectares may be as large as Jabodetabek. In this area 70 percent of the area must be green, then 20 to 30 percent of that is the building,” he said.

He continued, the construction of the KIPP was included in the main focus of the first phase of IKN development.

In line with that, in the first stage the government will also carry out reforestation of the forests in Kalimantan.

Basuki emphasized that the development of the Nusantara IKN must be in accordance with the smart forest city concept, which is surrounded by beautiful green forests with modern technology as President Joko Widodo’s vision. (ojn/bbs)
