The Corruption Eradication Commission emphasized that Lukas Enembe’s wife and children were investigated in connection with a corruption case

Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confirmed that Lukas Enembe’s wife and children were being questioned by investigators in connection with the alleged bribery and gratuity of infrastructure projects in Papua Province.

The Head of the KPK Reporting Section, Ali Fikri, also denied the statement by attorney Lukas Enembe that Yulce Wenda and Astract Bona Timoramo Enembe had been subjected to personal statements.

“We need to emphasize, the examination material asked by investigators is of course related to the alleged criminal act as stated in the elements of the article and not at all related to personal matters as stated by the lawyer for the suspect LE,” said Ali Fikri in Jakarta, Friday. .

Ali also explained that the material for the examination of the two was a matter of knowledge and the alleged involvement of the two in cases related to infrastructure in Papua.

“Related to the material for the examination of witness Yulce Wenda and Asrtract Bona Timoramo Enembe on Wednesday (18/1), that investigators also studied the witness’ knowledge, including the alleged participation of the witness in determining the winner of the work project at the Papua Provincial Government, including the handing over of a sum of money from the suspect RL. (Rijatono Lakka) to suspect LE,” said Ali.

Previously, KPK investigators had named Lukas Enembe a suspect in the alleged bribery and gratuity case for infrastructure projects in Papua Province

In addition to Lukas Enembe, the Corruption Eradication Commission named PT Tabi Bangun Papua (TBP) Director Rijatono Lakka (RL) as a suspect in the case.

The suspect Rijatono Lakka allegedly handed over Rp. 1 billion to Lukas Enembe after being selected to work on three infrastructure projects at the Papua Provincial Government, namely the multi-year project or multi-year improvement of the Entrop-Hamadi Road with a project value of Rp. 14.8 billion, the multi-year project for the rehabilitation of PAUD supporting facilities and infrastructure. Integration with a project value of IDR 13.3 billion, as well as a multi-year project for environmental management of AURI outdoor shooting venues with a project value of IDR 12.9 billion.

The KPK suspects that Lukas Enembe has received other gifts as gratuities related to his position which, based on preliminary evidence, has so far amounted to around Rp. 10 billion.

For the purposes of investigation, the KPK has detained Lukas Enembe for the next 20 days from 11-30 January 2023 at the KPK Detention Center at Pomdam Jaya Guntur.

Meanwhile, the suspect Rijatono has been detained for the first 20 days from 5-24 January 2023 at the KPK Detention Center at the KPK’s Red and White Building, Jakarta. (mhn/bbs)
