Malang, The Indonesia Post – The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) allocates a social protection budget in the 2023 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) of IDR 476 trillion in an effort to provide protection to the poor and vulnerable.
Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani in Malang Regency, East Java, Friday, said that the social protection budget allocation was used to provide real results in poverty alleviation efforts.
“For 2023 the budget for social protection in the State Budget is Rp.476 trillion. I and the Minister of Social Affairs are looking at what activities from the Ministry of Social Affairs really produce real results, to be maintained and carried out,” said Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani.
She explained that the amount of the social protection budget in 2023 would not be much different from the previous year. However, 2023 will have different components compared to 2022.
According to her, in 2022 Indonesia will still face a pandemic condition due to the fairly heavy spread of the Corona Virus, coupled with a number of shocks such as fluctuations in domestic cooking oil prices.
In 2022, she continued, there will be a number of social assistance distributed such as cooking oil assistance, wage subsidy assistance, assistance for street vendors. The aid program that was distributed in 2022 will be adjusted in 2023.
“In 2022 there will be a pandemic situation and there will be shocks such as the price of cooking oil. So there are several budgets that will not be continued in 2022. The 2022 program will be redesigned later, depending on ministries and institutions,” said Sri Mulyani.
On that occasion Sri Mulyani and Social Minister Tri Rismaharini met Beneficiary Families (KPM) from a number of Ministry of Social programs. The assistance that has been distributed by the government has had a big impact on KPM.
“I am happy, I hope that all the social protection budget that has been allocated to the State Budget will really benefit those who need it and not be corrupted,” said Sri Mulyani. (mhn/bbs)
