Palembang, The Indonesia Post — The Regional Secretary of South Sumatra Province officially opened the Siti Fatimah Cup IV Football Tournament, held at Bumi Sriwijaya Field on Sunday (May 9, 2026).
This event served as a forum to strengthen ties between agencies and encourage a healthy lifestyle through sports.
In his remarks, the South Sumatra Regional Secretary emphasized the South Sumatra Provincial Government’s commitment to supporting the advancement of sports in the region. He stated that sports are not only a means of maintaining fitness but also fostering togetherness and a spirit of unity.
“The South Sumatra Provincial Government continues to promote the advancement of sports in South Sumatra. This is also part of the government’s commitment, including the presence of Siti Fatimah Regional Hospital as one of the leading healthcare facilities in South Sumatra,” he said.
Carrying the theme “Solidarity and Friendship Through Football in the Context of Towards South Sumatra Health Tourism”, this tournament is expected to be a space for togetherness among employees across agencies while also promoting South Sumatra as a leading health tourism destination.
The Siti Fatimah Cup tournament, which is now entering its fourth edition, aims to strengthen friendships between agencies and support the promotion of the South Sumatra Health Tourism program to the wider community.
The opening ceremony was lively and friendly, reflecting the spirit of sportsmanship and togetherness that are the main values in organizing this tournament.
Also present at the event were Trisnawarman, Head of the South Sumatra Health Office; Mahendra Resi Tama, Head of the South Sumatra Public Order Agency; Herdi Apriansyah, Head of the Environment and Land Agency; Koimudin, Head of the Forestry Agency; Dr. Syamsuddin Isaac, Director of Siti Fatimah Regional Hospital; and officials and representatives from other agencies.
