Palembang, The Indonesia Post – In order to realize Indonesia Emas 2045, the Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru called for the importance of strengthening the moral fortress of the younger generation through religious education. This was conveyed by HD after performing Friday prayers at the Al-Ikhlas Mosque, Karang Jaya Village, Gandus District, Palembang (Friday, 6/27/2025).
In his speech, HD emphasized that the development of human resources (HR) is not enough to rely only on intellectual aspects. Moral and spiritual education, according to him, must go hand in hand in order to create an intelligent and characterful generation.
“We are preparing a generation towards Indonesia Emas 2045. We must position TPA and TPQ as moral fortresses, a place where our children learn not only to read the Qur’an, but also to understand the values of goodness and noble morals,” said Herman Deru.
HD also invited all mosque administrators to increase activities for learning to recite the Koran and spiritual development of children. He considered that mosques are not only places of worship, but also centers of civilization and community education.
On that occasion, as usual, HD handed over aid to support educational and religious activities at the Al-Ikhlas Mosque. This aid is expected to increase the enthusiasm of the administrators in reviving the activities of the TPA and TPQ.
Furthermore, HD greeted the mosque congregation by shaking hands and taking pictures together. This moment is a picture of the close emotional relationship between the leader and the people. (rys/ril)
