Palembang, The Indonesia Post – South Sumatra Governor H. Herman Deru officially inaugurated Dr. H. Joncik Muhammad, S.Si., SH., MH., MM. as Regent and Arifa’i, SH. as Deputy Regent of Empat Lawang Regency for the 2025-2030 term. The inauguration took place at Griya Agung, Palembang, Monday morning (6/16/2025).
This activity was a special moment because it was witnessed directly by the Coordinating Minister for the Economy DR. Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration Yandri Susanto, and Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya.
The inauguration was marked by the reading of the Decree of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 100.1.3-2379 of 2025 concerning the Ratification of the Appointment of the Regent and Deputy Regent of Empat Lawang as a result of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections.
In his remarks, Herman Deru emphasized that although the inauguration of this pair was almost four months different from other regional heads, it would not hinder development performance in Empat Lawang.
“There is a difference of almost four months from other regional heads. But I am sure, Mr. Joncik, who is returning to serve for a second term, will not be left behind in designing and executing development programs. Moreover, the previous foundation was already strong,” said HD
HD said that Empat Lawang Regency, which is 18 years old, has great potential, especially coffee commodities and the brave character of its people. However, he reminded that budget limitations must be overcome with improvisation and innovation so that development continues. (rys/ril)
