Cik Ujang Ensures Reconstruction of the Win River Bridge in 2027

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Deputy Governor of South Sumatra H. Cik Ujang confirmed that the reconstruction of the Menang River Bridge in Karang Jaya District, North Musirawas Regency, will be carried out in 2027.

This confirmation was made during a direct inspection of the bridge on Friday (May 8, 2026). The Sungai Menang Bridge previously collapsed due to a major flood in the Rawas River in 2024.

After the bridge collapsed, public access was disrupted, so a temporary bridge was built to support public mobility.

The bridge served as a vital link between Sukamenang Village and several other villages, including Rantau Telang, Tanjung Agung, and Muara Tiku. To this day, remnants of the old bridge’s concrete structure are still visible in the Rawas River.

During the visit, the Deputy Governor of South Sumatra, H. Cik Ujang, inspected the condition of the temporary bridge currently being used by the community.

He said the results of the field survey provided the basis for the South Sumatra Provincial Government to rebuild the permanent bridge. (mhn/ril)
