HD Distributes Rice Aid for 430,808 Beneficiary Families

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The South Sumatra Provincial Government through the Logistics Affairs Agency (Bulog) Regional Division of the South Sumatra and Bangka Belitung Provinces distributed the 2021 ‘PPKM’ Rice Aid as much as 4,308,080 Kilograms intended for 430,808 Beneficiary Families (KPM) in South Sumatra, both people who have entered the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS), but also people who are not registered with DTKS with poor economic conditions.

The 430,808 KPM recipients are each recipient of the Cash Social Assistance Fund (BST) with a total of 123,299 KPM and 307,509 are Beneficiary Families of the Family Hope Program (KPM PKH).

The Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru when launching the South Sumatra Province PPKM 2021 Rice Aid Program at the Governor’s office yard, Thursday (22/7) afternoon, emphasized that the assistance program in the form of rice was one of his initiatives, after previously being given in the form of cash.

He hoped that with the assistance of rice for KPM in South Sumatra, the economic circulation would run normally. Moreover, farmers will be more enthusiastic in increasing their production

“The rice aid that we provide for each KPM is 10 kg, with this assistance we hope to ease the burden on residents affected by PPKM,” said HD.

Furthermore, HD added that the 4,308,080 kg of rice will be distributed no later than July 25, 2021, including for small traders affected by PPKM.

Distribution of Rice Aid during the 2021 Community Activity Restrictions (BB-PPKM 2021) will begin on the week of July 18, 2021 simultaneously throughout Indonesia. (mhn/ril)
