Solo, The Indonesia Post – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) accompanied the body of his uncle, H Miyono Suryosardjono, to the Mundu Family Astana cemetery on Jalan Raya Solo-Purwodadi KM 9, Karanganyar, Central Java, Monday.
Accompanied by Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, the President arrived at the funeral home at Jalan Ahmad Yani No. 297-299, Banjasari, Solo City, around 09.40 WIB.
Arriving at the funeral home, the President immediately went to the place where the body was buried.
President Jokowi’s son Kaesang Pangarep and Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka and his wife Selvi Ananda were present at the funeral home.
The President and his youngest son Kaesang left for the cemetery at around 10.40 WIB.
Miyono Suryosardjono’s body was sent to the cemetery at around 11.00 WIB.
Before being taken to the cemetery, the body is prayed at the Hj. Kusumosari Santoso who is behind the funeral home.
Miyono’s son-in-law, Sigit Widyawan, said that as usual the funeral procession also includes the implementation of the brobosan tradition.
H Miyono Suryosardjono died at his home on Sunday (27/2). Before he died, he had undergone treatment at the hospital but then continued treatment at home because he did not want to be far from his environment.
Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi and Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy were among the mourners. (ojn/bbs)
