Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The COVID-19 Task Force (Satgas) reported that the number of Indonesian citizens who had received full-dose vaccine injections reached 162.75 million as of April 17, 2022, at 12.00 WIB.

Data from the COVID-19 Task Force received in Jakarta on Sunday showed that the number of people who had received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine per day increased by 189,426 to 162,750,057 people.

While the recipients of the first dose increased by 91,829 people, bringing the total number to 198,191,838 people.

For vaccination for the third dose today, 598,282 people increased to 30,947,385 people.

The government plans to vaccinate as many as 208,265,720 million people.

Thus, it is recorded that the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine was given to 95.16 percent of the total 208,265,720 residents who were targeted for the COVID-19 vaccination.

Meanwhile, residents who have completed two doses of vaccination account for 78.15 percent of the total target.

Previously, the Ministry of Health had accelerated COVID-19 vaccination following a slowdown in injections in the first week of Ramadan 2022.

“If we look at this Ramadan in total, both dose one, dose two, the third dose is slowing down,” said Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) Siti Nadia Tarmizi.

Nadia said the acceleration of vaccination occurred in the provinces of West Java, East Java, North Sumatra and DKI Jakarta. Meanwhile, other areas experienced a slowdown in injections.

“The government requires a minimum injection rate of 750,000 per day to meet the complete vaccination target for 70 percent of the entire population during the Ramadan momentum,” she said. (ojn/bbs)
