HD: Sekip Ujung Flyover, Responds to Public Anxiety Overcome Congestion

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru (HD) answered the concerns that residents of Palembang City and surrounding areas often complain about over the traffic jams that often occur on Jalan Basuki Rahmat (Simpang 4 Batch 66) Palembang by conducting a groundbreaking for the Sekip Ujung Palembang Flyover.

This activity is a sign of the start of the implementation of development which is targeted to be completed in September 2023.

Through that opportunity, HD said that the groundbreaking activity for the Sekip Ujung Palembang Flyover should have been carried out since last year, but this had to be delayed due to the Covid 19 Pandemic which required the Government to re-fund its National Budget (APBD).

“It turns out that our dream to unravel traffic jams from one point to another, which was hampered by the Covid 19 yesterday, can be carried out today with the blessing of Allah SWT. HD.

HD also said that the groundbreaking activities carried out were also evidence of the consistency and focus of the South Sumatra Provincial Government in equitable distribution of infrastructure development in South Sumatra.

“This development must of course get support from the community and we also hope that contractors can run more work shifts, especially at night when the traffic flow is not too heavy,” added HD.

Meanwhile, the Head of the South Sumatra National Road Implementation Center, DR. Budiamine, ST., MT explained that this development activity is a synergy of the Ministry of Public Works, the South Sumatra Provincial Government and the Palembang City Government by having the source of funds from State Sharia Securities (SBSN).
