Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – President Joko Widodo asked the young National Army (TNI) and National Police (Polri) officers to take advantage of the moment of Indonesia’s chairmanship at the G20 Forum to build world order and prosperity.
“This year we lead the G20, a collection of 20 of the world’s largest economies. We will take advantage of this opportunity to build world order and common prosperity,” said President Jokowi during the 2022 TNI and Polri Prasetya Perwira (Praspa) inauguration at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Thursday.
The President said that currently the situation in some parts of the world is being hit by divisions, even wars. Others are also haunted by political instability and overshadowed by radicalism and terrorism, he added.
Therefore, the President invited the Indonesian people to be grateful for the stable and solid political condition. In addition, Indonesia is also able to control the pandemic, maintain economic stability, and carry out new programs.
He said his visit to Ukraine and Russia at the end of June was also an effort to realize world order and peace, and hoped that it would bear fruit at the G20 Summit in November 2022 in Bali.
“We will continue to carry out this effort with the hope that it will bear fruit at the upcoming November G20 Summit in Bali,” said the President.
President Jokowi inaugurated 754 young TNI and Polri officers, consisting of 292 graduates from the Military Academy, 107 graduates from the Naval Academy, 109 graduates from the Air Force Academy, and 246 graduates from the Police Academy. The inauguration was based on Presidential Decree Number 44/TNI 2022 and Presidential Decree Number 46/Polri 2022. (ojn/bbs)
