President: 78 years Indonesia has gone through various challenges and trials

Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – President Joko Widodo said that in the span of 78 years, Indonesia has been able to go through various challenges and trials by working together.

This was conveyed by Jokowi through his Instagram account @jokowi in connection with the celebration of the 78th Indonesian Independence Day, as monitored in Jakarta, Thursday.

“It has been 78 years since the fighters and founders of the nation ‘delivered the Indonesian people to the front gate of independence’ with aspirations that have not changed to this day, to make Indonesia independent, united, sovereign, just and prosperous,” Jokowi wrote.

He then said that various challenges and trials were successfully overcome thanks to the cooperation of all parties.

“In those 78 years, Indonesia has gone through various challenges and trials which we have been able to overcome thanks to the spirit of mutual cooperation which is the nature of this nation. United we stand, divided we fall,” he said.

Now, said Jokowi, the Indonesian nation is preparing to face new challenges in the midst of increasingly fierce international competition.

According to him, in 2030 Indonesia will enter a demographic bonus, when more than half of Indonesia’s population will be of productive age.

With careful preparation from an early age, he is optimistic that the Indonesian people will be able to make good use of the demographic bonus to make Indonesia a developed country.

“The opportunity for this will only come once, it will never happen again, so we are preparing from today. Long live the Republic of Indonesia,” said Jokowi.

In the upload, President Jokowi includes an animated video showing the era of the proclamation of Indonesian independence to the current era, where Indonesia has become independent with all kinds of developments.

On Thursday morning President Jokowi acted as inspector for the commemoration ceremony of the Seconds of the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence in the courtyard of the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.

On Thursday evening Jokowi will again lead the flag lowering ceremony at the same place.

After the flag is lowered, the flag and the text of the proclamation will be returned to the National Monument in a procession. (mhn/bbs)
