Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The COVID-19 Task Force (Satgas) reported that the number of Indonesian citizens who had received the full dose of vaccine injection, as of Sunday, at 12.00 WIB, reached 140.30 million people.
Data from the COVID-19 Task Force received in Jakarta on Sunday showed that the number of residents who had received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine increased by 354,959 to 140,301,087 people.
Meanwhile, the number of recipients of the first dose of vaccine on Sunday (20/2) was recorded at 113,219 people. With this addition, the number of recipients of the first dose of vaccination has now reached 189,646,917 people.
For the third dose of vaccination, an increase of 129,990 people, to 8,456,612 people.
The government plans to vaccinate as many as 208,265,720 million people.
Thus, it is recorded that the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine was given to 91.06 percent of the total 208,265,720 residents who were targeted for the COVID-19 vaccination.
Meanwhile, residents who have completed the second dose of vaccination cover 67.36 percent of the total target.
Previously, the government asked all parties to support the acceleration of the second dose of vaccination and booster for the elderly, in order to protect and prevent residents of this age group from the risk of death.
“The president’s direction is clear, to accelerate the vaccination of the elderly and children,” said Minister of Communications and Information, Johnny G. Plate.
Johnny emphasized that the acceleration of the second and third vaccinations must continue to be strengthened in all regions, especially for the elderly and people who have not been injected with the vaccine.
In addition, he said, acceleration of vaccination for the elderly should also be concentrated in places with high community interaction, because it is known that human interaction has the potential to increase transmission of the virus that causes COVID-19. (ojn/bbs)
