Bali, The Indonesia Post – Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi and British Foreign Minister Elizabeth Truss discussed the issue of food and energy security, in a bilateral meeting held on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (FMM) in Nusa Dua, Bali, Thursday.
In the context of multilateral cooperation, Foreign Minister Truss expressed his appreciation for Indonesia’s presidency at the G20 and trust in Indonesia’s leadership in the issue of food and energy security in global forums.
“The meeting also discussed the latest developments in Ukraine. The two foreign ministers agreed on the importance of finding ways to secure food issues for the world,” said the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a written statement.
Meanwhile, regarding bilateral cooperation, the two foreign ministers are committed to strengthening cooperation in the field of renewable energy.
Britain stated its readiness to support Indonesia in the development of wind and solar energy.
The Indonesian Foreign Minister also welcomed the plan to open a British Investment Office in Jakarta in the near future.
Furthermore, the two foreign ministers committed to the implementation of the Indonesia-UK Partnership Roadmap which was launched in April 2022. (ojn/bbs)
