Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra (Sumsel), H. Herman Deru, officially inaugurated Supriyadi, S.E., M.M. as the Head of the Representative Office of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) of South Sumatra Province. This inauguration was held at Griya Agung Palembang on Tuesday (24/06/2025).
In his remarks, Governor Herman Deru said that South Sumatra has several major targets in increasing the productivity of Natural Resources (SDA), especially in rice, corn, and coffee commodities. However, this increase in productivity faces obstacles at the Boom Baru Port which is no longer adequate due to sedimentation.
Therefore, an immediate solution is needed to realize the Tanjung Carat Port or Palembang New Port.
“Welcome aboard, Mr. Supriyadi. Some of the major targets that we are currently facing are increasing food productivity and the Tanjung Carat Port because this is our big dream. Because every time we see accidents of large cars entering the city,” said HD, emphasizing the urgency of building a new port.
Furthermore, Governor Herman Deru also conveyed three main focuses that are of concern to the provincial government, the Minimum Regional Revenue Sharing, the Governor highlighted the problem of the minimum regional revenue sharing that becomes regional income, where the company’s Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP) is in Jakarta, while the land and operational activities are in South Sumatra Province.
“We have a plantation, we are polluted by the environment, but the tax goes to Jakarta because the office is centered there. Hopefully this will be a discussion about how the company’s NPWP is in the region,” he hoped.
Furthermore, as an attention, Herman Deru touched on the limitations of village heads in financial management, which often causes them to fall into legal problems due to lack of knowledge.
“Maybe special literacy so that they do not do the wrong thing because of lack of knowledge in budget management,” he added, emphasizing the importance of financial education for village officials. (rys/ril)
