PMI Sumsel Innovation, Holds the First Virtual Jumbara PMR in Indonesia

The PMR Jumbara at the Provincial Level of South Sumatra virtually received appreciation from the General Chair of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) center, Jusuf Kalla who was represented by the Chairperson of the Central PMI Organization Division, Muhammad Muas.

Muhammad Muas in his speech gave his appreciation to the Chairman of PMI Sumsel Province Hj. Febrita Lustia HD, who remains consistent in carrying out humanitarian work programs in the midst of the current Covid 19 pandemic. One of them is by carrying out the virtual Jumbara concept which he thinks is a brilliant idea because it was first implemented in Indonesia. For this reason, he will bring the virtual Jumbara concept to other provinces in Indonesia.

“Returning from here, I will bring this concept. And we will offer it to other provinces. After that, I will go to Central Sulawesi and Aceh Provinces, ”he said.

With the concept of Jumbara, which was held virilally, he continued, it would actually increase public trust, especially among parents of students, in the existence of the PMR organization as a forum for fostering and developing PMI youth members who are one of the strengths in carrying out humanitarian activities, health and disaster preparedness and capacity building. “This Jumbara is a product of a system for national resilience. This assures us all, even though under any circumstances we can still act through existing means of communication,” he added.

He hopes that PMI South Sumatra can synergize with local governments, especially in fostering the younger generation. Routinely organize blood donation actions in collaboration with the Covid Task Force in each region.

Meanwhile, the Governor of South Sumatra (Sumsel) H. Herman Deru as well as the Protector of PMI Sumsel expressed his gratitude to the central PMI board who have given much attention to PMI Sumsel. The types of competitions competed in the Jumbara this time included the Category of Meet Traveling in Kepalangmerahan (Kepalangmerahan, Leadership, PP, Sanitation and Health, Disaster Preparedness, Youth Health, and Student Blood Donation) and provided a grid.

While the Service category is Natural Disaster Preparedness Counseling, Non-Natural Disaster, Happy Covid-19 Pandemic, Hygiene and health counseling and blood donation.
