Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – President Joko Widodo emphasized that protection and opportunities for children to develop are the stake for the nation’s future.
“Protection and opportunities for children to develop are the stakes for the future of the nation,” Jokowi said on his Instagram social media account @jokowi monitored in Jakarta, Sunday, to coincide with the commemoration of National Children’s Day today.
The President said the nation’s best generation is always born from an era that provides a spacious place for every child to grow up free, smart and cheerful.
The President in uploads on his social media also wished Happy National Children’s Day by including illustrations of Indonesian children playing various traditional games and bathing in the river.
Meanwhile the Vice President at the 2023 Indonesian Child Protection Committee (KPAI) Award ceremony, last Thursday (20/7) also emphasized the importance of joint attention to the implementation of child protection, because children are the nation’s most valuable asset.
The Vice President reminded that the existence of a family and alternative care should be a safe and comfortable environment for the growth and development of children.
To note, the highlight of the 39th National Children’s Day 2023 commemoration will be held at Simpang Lima Field, Semarang, today Sunday, with the theme “Protected Children, Advanced Indonesia”.
Vice President Ma’ruf Amin is scheduled to attend the event in person. (mhn/bbs)
