Solo, The Indonesia Post – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) with First Lady Iriana Jokowi and her two grandchildren visited the Solo Zoo (Safari) tourist spot in Jurug Jebres Solo, Central Java, Monday.
Jokowi along with Mrs. Iriana and her two grandchildren, Jan Ethes and Lembah Manah, accompanied by the Mayor of Surakarta Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Director of PT Taman Safari Indonesia (TSI) Hans Manansang looked at the results of revamping Solo Safari which was formerly called Taru Jurug Animal Park (TSTJ) in Jebres Solo.
The President, together with his grandson, Jan Ethes, toured the places in Solo Safari, which had just completed the first phase of the renovation.
President Jokowi said that he was invited to visit Solo Safari by the Mayor of Surakarta, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, to see the results of revamping the tourist attraction.
“I was invited by the Mayor to see the revamping of the Taru Jurug Animal Park (TSTJ) in Jebres, which is now a Solo Safari, very good,” said Jokowi.
Although, Solo Safari’s improvements haven’t been completed yet, it already looks like it will be very good and become a new tourist destination in the city of Solo.
Solo Safari in Jurug will support productive assets in Solo. Later there will be a Solo Safari, Balekambang Manahan Banjarsari Park, a Night Market on Jalan Gatot Subroto, and there will be a Solo Techno Park which will be visited by young people.
“I’m just looking at what the Mayor of Surakarta showed me,” Jokowi said.
Jan Ethes, who saw animals at Solo Safari, said he saw snakes, rabbits, horses, chickens and turtles. “I was holding the snake and I wasn’t afraid,” said Jan Ethes.
Meanwhile, the Director of PT Taman Safari Indonesia (TSI), Hans Manansang, explained that the Solo Safari Jurug renovation was being carried out day and night so that it could open on January 27, 2023.
Animals that are already in Solo Safari include honey foxes, zebras, elephants, kangaroos, lions, snakes, horses, rabbits and there is also a Waterpark.
“The lion is already there and the Komodo dragon will soon arrive at Solo Safari Jurug,” said Manansang. (mhn/bbs)
