Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The COVID-19 Task Force reported that 61,135,788 people had been vaccinated with the third dose or experienced a daily increase of 959 people from Wednesday to 18.00 WIB.
Meanwhile, those who had been vaccinated with the second dose on Wednesday increased by 257 people, bringing the total to 171,111,977 since the vaccination program was launched. Meanwhile, the population of Indonesia who has been vaccinated with the first dose has touched 203,435,374 people or an increase of 380 today.
Those who have been vaccinated with the fourth dose, mainly health workers and the elderly, have reached 417,323 or have increased by 41 people. The government targets vaccination targets for 234,666,020 people.
The Indonesian Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) has approved three COVID-19 vaccine products to be used for children in Indonesia as primary and booster doses.
“The ones that have been approved as primary vaccines are Sinovac vaccines for ages over 6 years, Pfizer over 12 years old, and Covovax over 12 years old,” said Head of BPOM RI Penny K. Lukito.
According to her, of the three types of vaccines for the primary dose, only Pfizer has been approved for use as a homologous booster in children aged 16 to 18 years.
BPOM is also in the process of applying for an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for Sinovac’s COVID-19 vaccine for primary doses in children aged 3 years and over. (mhn/bbs)
