Asked to Handle Congestion Problems, This is a Recommendation from the South Sumatra Provincial Legislative Council to the Provincial Government

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The 48th Plenary Meeting with the agenda of Submission of Recommendations from the Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD) of South Sumatra Province to the Governor of South Sumatra on the LKPJ of the Governor of South Sumatra for the 2021 Fiscal Year was officially held today by the South Sumatra DPRD at the South Sumatra DPRD Building, Thursday (12/05).

At this meeting, the Chairman of Commission I of the South Sumatra DPRD, Antoni Yuzar, in his report conveyed several conclusions and recommendations to the South Sumatra Provincial Government. One of them is the provincial government’s efforts to unravel the congestion that continues to occur at several points in South Sumatra.

“The high number of vehicles causes heavy traffic which causes congestion and accidents, this problem is always our homework together. Therefore, we recommend that the provincial government must increase the number of exit doors in the construction of the Sumatra toll road, thus this effort can improve the economy in the surrounding area, “he said.

In addition, Antoni also encouraged the Public Works Department of Highways and Prov. Spatial Planning. So that South Sumatra can prioritize the APBN budget in infrastructure development which functions to break down congestion in South Sumatra.

“The construction of the double track railway and the duplication of the Ampera Bridge can function to break down congestion. Therefore, this could be the main priority of the Department of Public Works, Highways and Spatial Planning in terms of APBN budgeting. In addition, we also ask the Department of Public Works, Highways and Spatial Planning to establish better cooperation with BBPJN so that the implementation of road construction is in accordance with community expectations,” he said.

As is known, the 48th Plenary Meeting this time was attended by the Governor of South Sumatra, Herman Deru and the Chair of the South Sumatra DPRD, RA Anita Noeringhati. (mhn/bbs/ril)
