The chairman of the South Sumatra Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD), RA Anita Noeringhati, encouraged the South Sumatra Provincial Government, in this case the South Sumatra Social Service, to evaluate and re-verify the data on the poor population in South Sumatra.
This is in line with the non-linearity of data on the poor from BPS and people receiving BLT from the government.
“Therefore, we ask that these data be harmonized,” said Anita after attending the 48th Plenary Meeting at the South Sumatra DPRD Building, Thursday (12/05).
Anita said that one of the real examples that her party got was that there were still people who were classified as prosperous but still received assistance from the government.
“When I went directly to the field, I found that there were still people who had actually been excluded from the Poor Population Data, but they still received assistance,” said Anita.
She also admitted that he was concerned that this could still happen, even as one of the indicators that South Sumatra was included in the top 10 regions with a high poverty rate.
“I am concerned why South Sumatra is still in the top 10 regions with a high poverty rate, even though the practice in the field is that the poor are actually not poor,” she said.
Therefore, Anita asked the OPD in charge of this matter to immediately evaluate and verify the actual data on the poor. (ojn/bbs/ril)
