By Improving Quality, HD is Optimistic that South Sumatra Coffee Will Go Global

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru (HD) launched the Kadin Expo 2025 as well as the release of the Coffee Exploration Team organized by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (Kadin) of South Sumatra at Transmart Mall Palembang (Thursday, 8/5/2025).

In his speech, HD said that he hopes that with the presence of the Kadin South Sumatra Coffee Exploration Team, South Sumatra coffee can be more global, which must also be fully supported by all parties.

“With extraordinary coffee potential and government support, we can improve the quality and quantity of South Sumatra coffee,” said HD.

HD emphasized the importance of improving coffee quality with a more hygienic drying process to meet international standards.

“We have to think out of the box to create new breakthroughs in coffee processing,” he added.

In addition, HD also asked Kadin to help increase the value of South Sumatra coffee through downstreaming and promotion as well as providing guidance to coffee farmers on the importance of maintaining the quality of the coffee produced and issuing coffee breakthroughs that have their own characteristics.

With joint efforts, the Governor is confident that South Sumatra coffee can become one of the region’s leading products that is world-class, not only in quantity but also in quality.

“That way we will provide awareness to consumers about the advantages of South Sumatra coffee and create higher demand,” said HD.

HD also hopes that with good cooperation between the government, farmers, and Kadin, South Sumatra coffee can become one of the region’s leading commodities that makes a significant contribution to the regional economy. (ojn/ril)
