Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – SOE Minister Erick Thohir revealed that the government’s intervention in the SoluSi (Solar for Cooperatives) program is proof of the president’s great concern for fishermen.
According to him, the profession that supplies protein for the nation from marine products must be assisted and supported so that it is easy to earn a living and become prosperous.
“As an assistant to the President, I coordinated with Mr. Teten, the Minister of Cooperatives and Mr. Trenggono, the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) to find ways to help fishermen with the supply of diesel fuel that is easy and at the same price. President Joko Widodo’s attention to fishermen has encouraged the realization of a solar program for cooperatives, ” said Erick in his statement in Jakarta, Saturday.
Therefore, he requested that the fishermen in Tambak Loro flock to become members of the local fishermen’s cooperative so that they can buy diesel at the official price.
According to the plan, a Pertashop, a collaboration between Pertamina and one of the cooperatives in Tambak Loro, will soon be established to support the program.
“If you believe in President Jokowi, and also agree that this program can improve the welfare of fishermen, because this program has been successful in Cilacap, then immediately become a member of the cooperative so that you have the certainty of getting diesel easily and affordable. In January 2023 I will come again to check,” said Erick.
During a working visit to Central Java, apart from confirming the location of Pertashop for the SoluSi program, Erick Thohir also took the time to see the activities of Tambak Loro housewives who are members of the Mekaar PNM program.
Previously, the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs together with the Ministry of SOEs synergized in a pilot project of the Fisherman’s Solution Program to streamline the distribution chain of fuel oil (BBM) to fishermen so that it becomes more targeted.
Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki hopes that this step will have an impact on the welfare of fishermen. (mhn/bbs)
