Fatoni: Handover of House Keys, Government Efforts to Accelerate Development in South Sumatra

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Acting The Governor of South Sumatra, Agus Fatoni attended the Ceremonial Operation of Uninhabitable Houses (RTLH) and Handover of Sanitation Equipment at Gang Kaleng & Lr. Sirah, Plaju Ilir, Plaju, Palembang, Prov. South Sumatra (Monday, 3/6/2024)

The handover of the house keys to the residents of Gang Kaleng was symbolically handed over directly by Acting Governor of South Sumatra, Agus Fatoni. In this activity, the signing of the Agreement on the Acceleration of Development in South Sumatra Province was also carried out between the South Sumatra Provincial Government and the Sriwijaya Regional Military Command II for the 2025 Fiscal Year.

In his speech, A. Fatoni said that the official handover of house keys, inauguration of sanitation and the MOU with Kodam II Sriwijaya were the government’s efforts to accelerate development in South Sumatra.

In this regard, A. Fatoni encouraged the Village Government to use village funds to make the house renovation and sanitation movement a success and so that the number of RTLHs that will be renovated will continue to increase and so that the welfare of the people of South Sumatra can continue to increase.

“We are all grateful that we can launch and implement these ideas together. Apart from that, the government also has other simultaneous movements, namely the movement to handle stunting in South Sumatra, the movement to handle inflation simultaneously in South Sumatra, the cheap market movement simultaneously in South Sumatra, the movement to protect vulnerable employees in South Sumatra. “I would also like to thank all parties who have helped in this program,” he said.

A. Fatoni also conveyed that since the launch of the South Sumatra Simultaneous House Renovation Movement Program in February 2024 by the General Chair of the Central TP PKK, Tri Tito Karnavian. Currently the work has reached 80% of the RTLH which has been repaired.

“Currently, 80% of South Sumatra has been built for house renovation movements totaling 8,391 RTLH units. “With this simultaneous movement, the efforts we make are more focused and have more impact on society,” he said.

A. Fatoni also emphasized that if a program is carried out jointly and simultaneously, the development carried out in South Sumatra will be carried out more quickly.

At the end of his speech he appealed to the entire community to ensure that South Sumatra remains conflict-free so that the conducive conditions created will have an impact in accelerating development carried out by the government.

After signing the Agreement for the Acceleration of Development in South Sumatra Province with Kodam II Sriwijaya. A. Fatoni and other accompanying officials inspected residents’ houses which had been completely renovated.

Regarding the cooperation agreement signed, Pangdam II/Sriwijaya, Major General TNI M. Naudi Nurdika S.IP M.Si S. Tr. (Han) said that the TNI was ready to help in making the house renovation program a success for the welfare of the community.

“This is a task that is not easy, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the Governor of South Sumatra and all the Governors of South Sumatra who have involved the TNI in this movement. And I hope that this cooperation can run smoothly in accordance with the signed agreement and bring goodness to all of us,” he said.
