Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Members of the Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD) South Sumatra (Sumsel) from constituency I Palembang City followed up on public complaints regarding the price and stock of cooking oil in the market by holding a dialogue with entrepreneurs and distributors of cooking oil (Migor) in Palembang.
The meeting, which was centered at the trade office in the city of Palembang, was chaired directly by the Dapil I Coordinator, Hj RA Anita Noeringhati accompanied by H Chairul S Matdiah, Mgs H Syaiful Fadli, H Kartak SAS, Prima Salam, and Dedi Sipriyanto, Monday (21/3) .
The coordinator of the electoral district I who is also the chairman of the South Sumatra DPRD, Hj RA Anita Noeringhati asked about the scarcity of migraines when the Maximum retail price (HET) of Rp. 14 thousand per liter was set. “We want to ask how much the company actually produces migraines, so there was a shortage of migraines. Especially when the HET is still in effect,” said Anita.
Furthermore, this Golkar Party politician also asked why when the HET was revoked and the price soared, migraines were even more prevalent in the market. “Because migration is a basic need. So on this occasion, we ask for the cooperation and support of all parties, so that we can sell Migor at a more affordable price, but farmers and entrepreneurs do not lose out,” she said.
The head of the Palembang City Trade Office, Raimon Lauri, said that the migration needs of the people of Palembang were around 60 thousand liters per day. For now, the stock of migrants in Palembang is still sufficient.
Regarding the rising food prices, Raimon explained, his party will hold a low-cost market and market operations. It contains almost all basic necessities, including cooking oil.
Wijaya Citra from PT Wilmar said, both before the HET policy and after the HET was revoked by the government, his company’s cooking oil production remained the same, namely 11 thousand tons per month or 12 million liters per month.
So when there is a shortage at low prices, and when HET is revoked, migraines are scattered, they do not understand. Because, oil production does not change.
Regarding the scarcity of migraines that have occurred, Wijaya said, as long as migraines are rare, his party together with the Palembang city government routinely conduct market operations. “In a day we allocate 5000 liters of migraine for the OP,” he said.
Meanwhile, the distributor of MM and Suco migraines, Ico Hariza, said that from the past until now, Sunco’s migraines have been sold at a higher price. “Currently, we sell Sunco oil to shops for Rp. 25 thousand per liter, while MM is sold to shops for Rp. 18,900 per liter. Now, later the children’s shop sells at a higher price, because they also want to make a profit,” he said. (ojn/bbs/ril)
