Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The Ministry of Health stated that the population of Indonesia who had been vaccinated with the third dose (booster) had reached 12,847,312 people or an increase of 360,196 from Tuesday to 12.00 WIB.
From official data received in Jakarta, the addition of this third dose after 148,587,718 people had been vaccinated with the second dose. An additional 566,367 people were vaccinated for the second dose on Tuesday.
While the first dose of vaccination reached 192,263,704 or there were daily additions of 194,941 people. The government targets the national vaccination target to reach 208,265,720 people.
Government Spokesperson for Handling COVID-19, Reisa Broto Asmoro, said that vaccination coverage for all elderly residents (elderly) continues to be accelerated so that Indonesia will soon enter the endemic phase.
“Make sure we are fully vaccinated, it’s three months away, immediately invite the family to do a booster vaccination, especially for the elderly,” said Reisa.
Reisa said the achievement of COVID-19 vaccination as of March 6, 2022, the coverage of the first dose has reached 92.2 percent. However, the complete dose coverage has only touched 71.03 percent and booster vaccination is still below 10 percent.
Similar to booster vaccination, vaccination coverage for the elderly is still low, so it requires maximum effort to expand coverage. (mhn/bbs)
