Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Maintain the Preservation of the Surrounding Environment and Involve Local Workers was conveyed by the Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru when receiving the Director and Deputy Executive Director of PT. Supreme Energy Rantau Dedap (SERD) in order to report on the progress of the 91.2MW Rantau Dedap PLTP Project activities.
HD asked PT SERD to be able to make defenses and protections for the preservation of the surrounding nature because like it or not, the plants around must be maintained. HD also asked for employee recruitment to prioritize the surrounding community.

Meanwhile, the President Director of PT. Supreme Energy Rantau Dedap, Nisriyanto said on December 26, 2021, electricity from the Rantau Dedap PLTP with a capacity of 91.2 Mega Watts (MW) has been operating commercially and the PLTP project will later be inaugurated by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources.
“PT. SERD is located in Semendo, South Sumatra Province, where we recruit operators from local communities. In the Program section, we collaborate with the Sriwijaya University Campus and around 40 people have operated the program there,” said Nisriyanto.
Nisriyanto also said that PT has carried out a rehabilitation program for 100 hectares of plantations but now only 40 hectares are running as compensation for the deforested forests there. PT has also built a 40km road on site.
“The total number of PT workers currently is around 200 people because they are still house keeping, so we cleaned the previous 400 people. Once reached 2,500 workers when construction lasted until December. For 100% security, they are recruited from the surrounding community,” said Niariyanto. (ojn/ril)
