Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Palembang-Kayuagung Toll Road section has recently become a public spotlight. The reason is the quality of the toll road that many vehicle users complain about because there are many holes. Worse yet, this condition makes passing cars often experience punctured tires due to poor road quality.
Chairman of Commission IV Legislative Council (DPRD) South Sumatra (Sumsel) MF Ridho admitted last week his party had met with PT Waskita in Jakarta.
“We are following up on the conditions that caused the latest accident by conveying it directly to Waskita Central (Bohir), Waskita Tol Road (Contractor), Waskita Sriwijaya Toll (Operator), we convey that action in the field is to repair the damage to the Kapal Betung Toll Road which incidentally is Kayuagung. “Palembang, Palembang -Kayuagung can be finished soon and they are already using Korean asphalt,” he said, Sunday (30/1).
According to him, this Korean asphalt is cold asphalt which is of better quality than hot asphalt and can be passed directly in two days, hard and fast.
According to the politician of the Democratic Party, the toll roads that will be repaired are the Kayuagung -Palembang, Palembang -Kayuagung toll roads which have become public complaints that cause accidents to be repaired.
“If the road is good, the accident has a vehicle factor, there is a human factor but if the road is bad people don’t listen to it, other factors, the road is bad,” he said.
At the same time, according to Ridho, his party reminded the continuation of the construction of the Keramasan-Betung Toll Road, not to repeat the quality of roads such as the Kayuagung-Palembang Toll Road.
“Only geographical conditions, the Keramasan-Betung toll road is different,” he said. (ojn/bbs/ril)
