Palembang, The Indonesia Post – This was stated by the Governor of South Sumatra H Herman Deru when receiving the Director of Sanitation at the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing of the Republic of Indonesia (PUPR) in the context of the Palembang City Wastewater Piping Network Development plan through the Palembang City Sewerage Project (PCSP).
“This is the government’s commitment, we are willing to do this. However, because there are so many development priorities. I hope that both the PUPR Ministry and the Palembang city government can continue to establish good communication with the provincial government,” he said.
In addition, HD requested that this development also pay attention to civil work where the construction of this project still pays attention to road conditions so that they are not damaged, causing traffic jams and disturbing road users.
“In addition, in the process of constructing the piping network and house connections, socialization is also carried out so that the public knows its usefulness,” he said.
The Head of Sub-Directorate for Region 1 of the Sanitation Directorate of the PUPR Ministry, Sandhi Eko Bramono said that the construction of the Palembang City Wastewater Piping Network would be concentrated at one point, namely towards the Sei Selayur Wastewater Management Installation (IPAL) of Palembang City with a total capacity of 20,300 m3/day.
The WWTP will serve as many as 21,700 house connections with an estimated total beneficiaries of 100,000 or equivalent to 5% of the entire population of Palembang City. This activity was carried out with multiple sources of funding, namely through Australian DFAT grants (performance based grants), APBN funds, as well as the South Sumatra Province APBD and Palembang City APBD with hundreds of billions of rupiah each.
