Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Governor of South Sumatra (Sumsel) H Herman Deru, represented by Assistant I for Government and People’s Welfare for the Regional Secretariat of South Sumatra Akhmad Najib to attend the 56th National Health Day (HKN) Commemoration of 2020 virtually in the Hall of the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Siti Fatimah Palembang , Thursday (12/11).
The 56th HKN commemoration this time with the theme “Unite Determination Towards a Healthy Indonesia” this time was attended directly by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Lieutenant General TNI Terawan Agus Putranto and the Head of Health Services throughout Indonesia including the Head of the South Sumatra Provincial Health Office, Dra. Lesty Niraini and the Director of the Siti Fatimah Regional Hospital of South Sumatra Province, dr. Syamsuddin Isac.
In his written remarks, the Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru, read by Assistant I Akhmad Najib to congratulate health officials on the 56th HKN commemoration. Although during the pandemic, this HKN event did not diminish the meaning of the struggle of medical personnel in overcoming covid-19. But behind that, he continued, in overcoming covid-19, it was not enough just for the government but also to be supported by the whole community.
“Let us together unite our determination to fight the Covid-19 pandemic and we hope this pandemic will pass quickly. Never let up against corona by enforcing health protocols in our every activity,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian Minister of Health, Lt. Gen.TNI, Terawan Agus Putranto, said that even though during the Covid-19 pandemic, the implementation of HKN warnings was still running through the application of health protocols.
“In this pandemic, we must be enthusiastic, never slack, wear a mask, keep our distance and wash our hands diligently. This is a health protocol that we must uphold so that we can pass Covid-19 well and stay healthy,” he said.
Head of the South Sumatra Provincial Health Office, Dra. Lesty Niraini also invited all South Sumatra people to fight through difficult times due to the pandemic.
“We would like to thank all medical personnel as well as the people of South Sumatra who fought against Covid-19,” he concluded.
On the other hand, the Director of the Siti Fatimah Regional Hospital of South Sumatra Province, dr. Syamsuddin Isac said the HKN warning this time was different from the previous year, but even though during the pandemic, the HKN event still ran smoothly.
“With the theme of HKN, we hope that the public will play an active role in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic, meaning that it is not only medical personnel but the community also plays an active role and continues to guard against the pandemic,” he said.
At the end of the HKN event at exactly 12.00 WIB, applause was held simultaneously throughout Indonesia as a sign of respect for medical personnel and the community in fighting Covid-19. (jekk/ril)
