Inaugurates 10 MVA AVR in Siju Village, HD: More Stable Electricity Drives Economic Growth

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – South Sumatra Governor H. Herman Deru inaugurated the use of a 10 MVA Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) in Siju Village, Rambutan District, Banyuasin Regency, on Thursday (August 28, 2025). The presence of this electrical infrastructure provides new hope for the community in obtaining more stable, reliable, and equitable electricity services.

The AVR maintains voltage balance when there are changes in electrical loads, from generators to household networks. With this facility, electricity from the Sungai Kedukan Substation to Tulung Selapan Village, which passes through the AVR Simpang 3 Kebun Sahang, can now be better distributed with a capacity of 10 MVA.

“The South Sumatra Provincial Government welcomes the initiative of PT PLN (Persero) UID S2JB to provide this AVR facility as part of its efforts to improve the quality of customer voltage, particularly in the Siju Village, Tulung Selapan, and surrounding areas. This AVR is very significant because it can improve the voltage from an average of 160 volts to 220 volts. I hope the community will help maintain and care for this facility, as its benefits are enormous for all of us,” said Herman Deru.

He emphasized that electricity is not only a basic need but also a vital pillar in controlling inflation and regional economic growth.

General Manager of PLN UID S2JB, Adhi Herlambang, stated that the construction of the AVR at the Kebun Sahang Intersection 3 is part of PLN’s commitment to providing the best service to the community.
“When electricity is flowing smoothly, God willing, the economy will also move forward, especially in Siju Village and the surrounding area,” Adhi explained.

Meanwhile, Banyuasin Deputy Regent Netta Indian said this development is a tangible manifestation of the Governor’s concern for the people of Banyuasin, particularly in Rambutan District.

The inauguration ceremony also included the distribution of basic food aid to representatives of the Banyuasin community as a form of social responsibility. (rys/ril)
