Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra H Herman Deru received an audience with the Chancellor of the Indo Global Mandiri University (UIGM) Palembang DR. H. Marzuki Alie, SE., MM and his staff in order to hold a Quality Education Workshop to produce creative, innovative and independent medical personnel in South Sumatra Province.
A workshop or commonly called a workshop is a scientific meeting conducted by experts in the same field to discuss a problem in accordance with their field of expertise.
HD welcomes and supports the implementation of this activity. According to HD, South Sumatra is still lacking in human resources for doctors. So he strongly supports UIGM’s plan to open a medical faculty.
If the administrative process supports it, HD even suggests that UIGM FK (medical faculty) can later establish educational cooperation with other hospitals in Palembang.
“UIGM Faculty of Medicine will certainly be another option. Especially South Sumatra, especially FK Unsri, is very attractive to students from inside and outside the province. With the limited capacity of students at Unsri, apart from FK Muhamadiyah, FK UIGM will certainly be another option,” he said.
HD said that the South Sumatra Provincial Government according to its capacity is very supportive and willing to facilitate the implementation of this workshop and also provides recommendations on the establishment of this faculty in terms of administrative needs needed.
Meanwhile, the Chancellor of the University of Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM) Palembang DR. H. Marzuki Alie, SE., MM, said that the workshop will be held on Wednesday morning, September 8, 2021, where discussions will be held with resource persons regarding the plan to establish this FK.
FK UIGM is planned to be opened by accepting 26 students in collaboration with RSUD Dr. H. M Rabain Muara Enim. (jek/ril)
