Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The COVID-19 Task Force reported that the number of Indonesians who had received a complete dose of the vaccine reached 163.87 million as of Saturday, 12.00 WIB.
Data from the COVID-19 Task Force received in Jakarta on Saturday showed that the number of people who had received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine per day increased by 165,150 to 163,874,842 people.
While the recipients of the first dose increased by 91,448 people, bringing the total number to 198,831,114 people.
The total vaccination for the third dose today increased by 566,092 people to 34,846,833 people.
The government plans to vaccinate as many as 208,265,720 million people.
Thus, it was recorded that the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine had been given to 95.46 percent of the total 208,265,720 residents who were targeted for the COVID-19 vaccination.
Meanwhile, residents who had undergone two doses of vaccination covered 78.68 percent of the total target.
Previously, Epidemiologist from the University of Indonesia’s Faculty of Public Health (FKM UI) Iwan Ariawan said the controlled COVID-19 pandemic and high vaccination coverage could prevent the potential for further waves after Eid 2022.
“The increase in COVID-19 cases after Lebaran will not be like after the previous holidays. The key is that the community follows the rules, the local government enforces the rules,” he said.
Iwan said the government’s policy of requiring people to get booster vaccines when going home was believed to minimize the potential for the spread of COVID-19. In addition, the public must continue to implement health protocols.
He said the government’s decision to allow people to go home during Lebaran this year took into account the relatively controlled spread of the virus, high vaccination coverage in the areas of origin and destination. (ojn/bbs)
