Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru represented by Assistant III for General Administration Dr. Edward Juliartha, MM, together with the people of South Sumatra, welcomed the launch of the Digital Literacy Activity with the theme INDONESIA MAKIN CAKAP DIGITAL 2021.
This was conveyed when he gave the Keynote Speech at the online launch of Indonesia Makin Cakap Digital.
“Let us make this momentum to build public awareness and knowledge regarding the use of new technology that continues to develop, as well as improve people’s digital skills in interacting in the digital space,” he said.
This activity is a digital transformation agenda launched by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, H. Joko Widodo through the collaboration of the Ministry of Communication and Information, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and technology. Ministry of Home Affairs and the National Digital Literacy Movement.
“Today’s launching held in conjunction with Harkitnas is the right momentum. Digital literacy is useful for increasing the ability of individuals to access, understand, create, communicate and evaluate digital technology, thereby increasing the cognitive abilities of human resources in Indonesia, especially in South Sumatra, so that their abilities are not limited to operating gadgets, “explained Edward.
“With the increase in cognitive abilities, People in the digital field are expected to be proficient in using digital technology and media at the basic, intermediate, and advanced levels, without forgetting the digital literacy class for an inclusive society, “he hoped.
To note, this activity will be held in 34 provinces and 514 districts / cities throughout Indonesia and is targeted by 2021 as many as 12.5 million Indonesians who are digitally literate. (ojn/ril)
