The Ministry of Transportation has prepared a quota of 24,072 free homecoming passengers for Eid 2023

Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has prepared a quota of 24,072 passengers for free homecoming by using buses during the Eid 2023/1444 Hijriah transportation period.

“So, the free homecoming quota that we have prepared is 24,072 people. For the homecoming (departing) flow we have prepared a quota of 18,528 (passengers), and for the return flow we have prepared a quota of 5,544 (passengers),” said Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Hendro Sugiatno in press conference monitored online on Monday.

The Ministry of Transportation has prepared a total of 585 buses with details of 459 buses for homecoming and 126 buses for return traffic.

“In this year’s free homecoming, especially for the Ministry of Transportation, we are preparing 459 buses for passengers,” said Hendro.

The Ministry of Transportation has also prepared 30 trucks to transport 900 motorcycles. As for the details, 15 trucks carried 450 motorbikes for the return trip and 15 trucks transported 450 motorbikes for the return trip.

“For the 30 units of trucks carrying motorcycles, our target is 900 units of motorcycles. For the return trip, we carry 450 motorcycles and 450 units of motorcycles for the return trip,” said Hendro.

The Ministry of Transportation also detailed the destination cities of the passengers’ homecoming flows which were divided into four groups.

First, Sumatra Island with the aim of Palembang and Lampung. Second, West Java with the aim of Garut, Tasikmalaya and Cirebon.

Third, Central Java and DIY with destinations to Solo, Tegal, Pekalongan, Semarang, Demak, Jepara, Pati, Blora, Boyolali, Klaten, Wonogiri, Purwokerto, Cilacap, Wonosobo, Kebumen, Magelang, Wonosari and Yogyakarta.

Fourth, East Java with destinations for Madiun, Surabaya, Tuban, Malang and Tulungagung.

In addition, the Ministry of Transportation also facilitates the return flow of passengers where there are eight cities of origin returning to Jakarta, namely Cirebon-Jakarta, Madiun-Jakarta, Surabaya-Jakarta, Semarang-Jakarta, Solo-Jakarta, Purwokerto-Jakarta, Wonogiri-Jakarta, and Yogyakarta-Jakarta.

Meanwhile, for the transportation of motorbikes, it is divided into five cities of origin and destinations for homecoming and returning, namely Solo-Jakarta (PP), Semarang-Jakarta (PP), Purwokerto-Jakarta (PP), Wonogiri-Jakarta (PP), and Yogyakarta-Jakarta. (PP).

For the free Lebaran 2023 homecoming program, the Ministry of Transportation opens from 13 March 2023 at 14.00 WB to 14 April 2023 through online registration.

First, homecoming participants download the “Mitra Darat” application on the AppStore or PlayStore and register/log-in in the application.

Second, participants fill in their personal data, the purpose of going home and/or returning, select the date of departure and so on.

Third, participants get an E-ticket/booking code for registration results.

Fourth, participants come to the validation location to get tickets.

The validation locations are spread across several points, namely Jakarta (GOR Bulungan, Blok M, South Jakarta), Depok (Margonda Terminal), Tangerang (Tangerang City Transportation Agency Office), South Tangerang (Pondok Cabe Terminal), and Bekasi (Kayuringin Terminal). (mhn/bbs)
