PALEMBANG, TheIndonesiaPost – South Sumatra Governor H Herman Deru, through the Spokesperson Team for the Task Force for the Covid-19 Handling Acceleration in South Sumatra Province, Yusri, announced the number of Covid-19 patients in South Sumatra Province who were recovering continues to grow, data as of May 1, 2020, 5 patients were cured and were allowed to reunite with their families.

Of the recovering patients, 5 of whom were domiciled in Palembang City and 1 residing in Lubuklinggau City. Thus, the total number of patients declared cured was 29 people.

“Thank God, the total number of patients recovered in South Sumatra has reached 29 people. The latest 5 patients have recovered. We are sure that Covid-19 patients have long missed the same situation, gathering with family, doing normal activities as before, therefore we also remind again to the public’s attention to always wear a mask, because this is the key to deciding this COVID 19 virus, ” he said.

The latest data dated May 1, 2020, as many as 945 samples are being examined, consisting of 638 samples without symptoms (OTG), 243 samples of patients under surveillance (PDP), and 64 samples of people in monitoring (ODP).

“A total of 157 samples tested positive for Covid-19, 176 samples were negative and 613 samples were still being examined. And there were additional positive confirmed cases of Covid-19 with 6 people known to be 2 people domiciled in Palembang City, 2 people from Musi Rawas Regency, and 2 people in Lubuklinggau City, “he said.

Yusri said, he still often saw the public, especially in the atmosphere of the crowd such as the market not using masks, even though in that atmosphere it was also very possible that COVID transmission was very fast.

“Keeping a very important distance, this disease does not have a special cure because it is absolutely needed endurance through nutritious food. Eating does not need to be expensive but nutritious, to increase our endurance.
