Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The Indonesian Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto gave a pistol produced by the domestic defense industry from Bandung, West Java, PT Pindad (Persero) as a souvenir as well as a sign of appreciation to the three Indonesian National Army (TNI) chiefs of staff.
Based on a press release received in Jakarta, Thursday, Prabowo gave the gun to the Army Chief of Staff General Dudung Abdurachman, the Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Yudo Margono, and the Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal TNI Fadjar Prasetyo before the Reserve Component Determination Ceremony (Komcad ) TNI Fiscal Year 2022.
The ceremony was held at Suparlan Airfield, Education and Training Center for Special Forces Kopassus, Bandung, West Java, Thursday.
The souvenir gun is a silver and black G2 Elite pistol. G2 Elite is a pistol produced by PT Pindad with a caliber of 9 x 19 mm parabellum. This gun has a magazine or a place for storing and reloading ammunition which is capable of holding 15 rounds of bullets.
This gun has the advantage of an adjustable rear blade (adjustable).
Related to the Komcad Determination Ceremony for the 2022 Fiscal Year, the activity was led by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia K.H. Ma’ruf Amin. The Vice President determined the Reserve Components of the TNI for the 2022 Fiscal Year, which was attended by 2,974 people.
In his report to Vice President Ma’ruf Amin during the ceremony, Prabowo said that the formation of the Komcad is a mandate from Article 27 of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia which states that every citizen has the right and is obliged to participate in efforts to defend the state.
In addition, Article 30 of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia mandates that every citizen has the right and is obliged to participate in the defense and security of the state.
Next, Law Number 3 of 2002 concerning National Defense and Law Number 23 of 2019 concerning Management of National Resources for National Defense which mandates the formation of Komcad from citizen elements through the stages of registration, selection, basic military training, and determination.
The formation of Komcad TA 2022 begins with the voluntary registration stage on March 1 to May 8, 2022, selection from May 9 to 27 2022, basic military training education (latsarmil) from May 30 to August 27 2022, and determination on September 8 2022. (mhn/bbs)
