Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra H Herman Deru received the management of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) South Sumatra in connection with the commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of PWI and the 2021 Porwada Week in Banyuasin.
HD welcomes the organization of this activity and plans to attend to enliven this activity. HD also confirmed that he would support a series of PWI activities that plan to form a journalism-based literacy village through the South Sumatra Library Service and the South Sumatra Literacy Ambassador.
In addition, to add to the excitement of this event, HD even suggested that an additional series of events be held in the form of a journalist competency test as one of the things that showed that PWI cadres were competent people.
“I also support the awarding of the late journalists who have had achievements and former PWI leaders. But also give awards to journalists who exist today, especially those who have achievements and merits,β he concluded.
The chairman of the South Sumatran Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI), Firdaus Komar, explained that this series of activities will also be carried out at the Regional Journalists Sports Week (Perwada) on June 22-24, 2021.
βIn addition, what is no less interesting is that we want to create a journalism-based literacy village, for that we ask for the cooperation and support of the Governor and the South Sumatra Provincial Government through the South Sumatra Disputaka. The concept is that we educate the selected village communities, where PWI members will educate the community,β he said. (ray/ril)
