National Police Chief: There should be no polarization in society in the 2024 Election

Semarang, The Indonesia Post – The National Police Chief General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasized that polarization among the public should no longer occur in the 2024 Election.

“Polarization must no longer occur in the 2024 Presidential, Legislative, and Simultaneous Pilkada,” said National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo during the commemoration of Bhayangkara’s 76th Anniversary at the Semarang Police Academy, Tuesday.

According to him, the 2019 election leaves a problem that is still being felt today, namely polarization or divisions between communities.

“This is very dangerous for Indonesia’s diversity and progress,” he said.

He emphasized that polarization should no longer occur in the 2024 election because social conflicts and divisions would be a setback for the Indonesian nation.

Previously, President Joko Widodo said that the National Police still had to deal with many national agendas that needed security support in the future.

He said the National Police must oversee the implementation of the 2024 General Election.

“You have to anticipate well. Give maximum support for security and social security so that this democratic party runs well,” he said.

The commemoration of Bhayangkara’s 76th Anniversary at the Semarang Police Academy took the theme “Precise Police Support Economic Recovery and Structural Reforms to Realize a Resilient-Resilient Indonesia-A Growing Indonesia”. (ojn/bbs)
