Jakarta, TheIndonesiaPost — The long wait of Pagaralam City residents for the construction of the Sports Hall (GOR) has been answered. This 2020, the construction of the GOR will certainly begin with the signing of the minutes of development between the Directors of PT Bukit Asam (PTBA) and the Mayor of Pagaralam, Alpian Maskoni, at the Pagaralam Mayor’s office on Saturday (4/7).
The signing ceremony was witnessed directly by the Assistant II for Financial Economics and Development of the South Sumatra Provincial Government, Dr. Ir. Yohanes L. Toruan, M. Sc
representing the Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru.
South Sumatra Regional People’s Representative Assembly (DPRD) member, H. Alfrenzi Panggarbesi who was contacted by reporters said he was grateful and welcomed with the signing of the minutes of the handover of the GOR construction in Pagaralam City, which cost around Rp 10 billion in assistance from PT BA’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
“This means, the long-awaited Pagaralam Sports Hall will soon be realized. Pagaralam City Government has prepared its location in Keban Agung Hamlet, South Pagaralam District.
The land in Keban Agung Hamlet is ready. I got information that the construction will be finished in 2020 as well. I think this is also a special gift in the context of the 17th anniversary of the City of Pagaralam, ” Alfrenzi said Panggarbesi contacted via telephone.
Alfrenzi Panggarbesi said, on behalf of the people of the City of Pagaralam, he thanked the Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru, who had fought for PT Bukit Asam to channel its CSR funds to help build the Pagaralam City Sports Hall which had been long-awaited by the community.
“Thank you to the PTBA board of directors who have shown their concern for the people of South Sumatra, especially residents of the City of Pagaralam,” said the Hanura Party politician.
Alfrenzi revealed the Governor of South Sumatra Herman Deru had a very important role in realizing the construction of the Pagaralam GOR.
Considering, initially PTBA’s CSR fund of around Rp. 100 billion was planned to build a convention hall in the Jakabaring Sport City (JSC) area of Palembang.
However, after going through various considerations, Herman Deru asked PTBA that the funds be diverted for the construction and repair of GOR in 10 districts and cities in South Sumatra, especially those that did not have GOR yet, including Pagaralam, Empat Lawang, OKUS, Prabumulih and Pali.
“This is a form of commitment from Mr. Governor Herman Deru who wants the South Sumatra to advance for All truly felt by all regencies and cities throughout South Sumatra,” said Alfrenzi who is also a former Special Staff of the Governor of South Sumatra.
Alfrenzi said PTBA CSR funds around Rp 10 billion were indeed not enough to build a complete Pagaralam GOR. But this bias can be a stimulus for the Pagaralam City Government to start its construction.
So that other funding sources are needed, such as the Pagaralam City Regional Budget, South Sumatra Province Regional Budget, State Budget, and other third party assistance that is allowed according to the rules.
“I know Pagaralam Mayor, Alpian Maskoni is very eager to realize a representative Pagaralam GOR. Friends in the Pagaralam DPRD and South Sumatra DPRD are ready to help ” said the South Sumatra DPRD member from Pagaralam. (ojn/rel)
