President Jokowi welcomes Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yakob

Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – Indonesian President Joko Widodo received the arrival of Malaysian Prime Minister (PM) Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yakob along with a delegation from Malaysia during a working visit at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Friday.

Based on the event that was monitored virtually from the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube account, Friday, Malaysian PM Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yakob arrived at the Merdeka Palace at around 10.55 WIB.

The arrival of the Malaysian PM and the delegation was received directly by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). After shaking hands, President Jokowi invited the Malaysian PM to the Credential Room for a group photo session and signing of the guest book.

Arriving at the Credentials Room, a number of ministers also welcomed Dato’ Sri Ismail, namely Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly, Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia Hermono.

Meanwhile, Dato’ Sri Ismail also introduced the delegates who accompanied him, namely Minister of Human Resources Saravanan Murugan, Minister of Communication and Multimedia Annuar Haji Musa, Minister of Rural Development Mahdzir Khalid, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia Kamarudin Jaffar, and member of parliament Tajuddin Abdul Rahman.

After that, the two heads of state walked to the back veranda for a face-to-face meeting.

During this working visit, President Jokowi and PM Malaysia will also witness the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) by the Indonesian Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah and the Minister of Human Resources Saravanan Murugan.

Then, President Jokowi and Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yakob will hold a joint press statement in the Credential Room, Merdeka Palace.

The two of them will also perform Friday prayers in congregation at the Baiturrahim Mosque in the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.

The banquet is ready to be the closing agenda for the working visit of Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yakob and the delegation in Indonesia.
