Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs of the Republic of Indonesia, Teten Masduki accompanied by the Acting Governor of South Sumatra Elen Setiadi opened the Peak event of the 2024 National MSME Day which was centered at the Jakabaring Dining Hall, Thursday night (5/9/2024)
Carrying the theme of Sustainable MSMEs Advancing Towards a Golden Indonesia, this activity aims to improve the MSME economy both at home and abroad and invite investors to invest.
In his remarks, Acting Governor Elen Setiadi wished a Happy National MSME Day 2024 and proudly expressed his gratitude for the trust in making South Sumatra the Host of the 2024 National MSME Day which will be held for 4 days, from 5 to 8 September 2024.
“The commemoration of this National MSME Day is a form of appreciation for MSME actors who are the heroes of the nation’s economy. We can report the number of MSME data in South Sumatra registered by name by address based on the Single Data Information System (SIDT), the number of non-Agricultural MSME actors in South Sumatra is 546,724 Business Actors, with various types of businesses consisting of culinary, Fashion, crafts, crafts, processing industries and so on,” explained Elen.
He added that the number of Agricultural MSMEs (Individual Agricultural Businesses/UTP), based on the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), is 1.12 million and based on OSS data from August 4, 2021 to September 5, 2024 (4 years), business permits originating from MSMEs have been registered as many as 212,818.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki said that it is very important in the future for national economic development to make UMKM the main stream of national economic development
“Various government facilities for UMKM such as business permits to obtain various certifications for the business world, we are also continuing to accelerate the implementation of local products, we will continue to encourage the speed of use of public spaces for UMKM businesses. The government has anticipated various bad possibilities so that UMKM can continue to try not to be in debt, can recover quickly,” he said.
Teten emphasized that Indonesia’s target in 2045 is to become a high-income country. It is time for UMKM to experience transformation and innovation,
“We hope that UMKM can become the foundation for Indonesia to become a developed country,” he concluded.
For information, the 2024 Expo Participants consist of Indoor and Outdoor Stands, 50 stands are in the dining hall, 30 stands next to the hall, 13 stands fostered by private BUMN in front of the entrance and 27 stands in the parking lot. Total 120 stands.
In addition to the UMKM expo exhibition, the peak event was also filled with the awarding of the UMKM satya badge, symbolic handover from the center to cooperatives, handover of prizes to business actors, symbolic handover of halal certificates from the Micro Deputy to UMKM actors. (ojn/ril)
