Governor Asks FKUB to Actively Prevent Potential Inter-Religious Conflict in South Sumatra

PALEMBANG, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra Province, H Herman Deru welcomes the audience of the South Sumatra Religious Harmony Forum (FKUB) in the Living Room of the South Sumatra Governor’s Office, Thursday (19/11/20).

In this audition, the Head of FKUB South Sumatra, KH. Mal’an Abdullah accompanied by a number of other administrators delivered the results of the FKUB National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) which was held on 2-5 November 2020.

H Herman Deru said, FKUB must maximize its role in early detection of inter-religious conflicts among the people of South Sumatra.

“FKUB must be able to detect this early so that there will be no religious conflicts in South Sumatra Province,” he said when receiving an audience from the South Sumatra FKUB.

Meanwhile, the Head of FKUB South Sumatra, KH. Mal’an Abdullah admitted that the direction of the Governor of South Sumatra, H Herman Deru was in accordance with what FKUB had hoped for nationally and the mandate of the 2020 National Coordination Meeting.

This role allows FKUBs in all regions of Indonesia to conduct early detection of various conflicts in society.

“If it can be detected earlier, the better,” he said.

From the budget side, Mal’an continued, FKUB really needs the support of the Governor of South Sumatra to strengthen regional FKUB that are spread across all districts / cities in South Sumatra. This effort, continued Mal’an, was carried out with the hope that the FKUB capacity in South Sumatra would be able to carry out these functions and tasks. (jekk/ril)
