One of them is by empowering the residents of the Social Home for the Rehabilitation of Homeless Beggars and People with Mental Disorders (PGOT ODGJ) Palembang in collaboration with the South Sumatra Social Service and CSR Kessos, Bank Sumsel Babel, PT. Pegadaian and other vertical agencies including BUMN and BUMD.
Governor Herman Deru launched the Productive Social Institution and the Dhuafa Berdaya Program virtually at the South Sumatra Provincial Government Command Center, Thursday (19/11/2020) afternoon.
Herman Deru said, CSR Kessos is a forum that facilitates and bridges PGOT ODGJ with stakeholders. Productive Social Institution using existing land in the PGOT ODGJ Palembang area, covering an area of ​​approximately 7 hectares. which is managed by empowering the residents of the orphanage. The Dhuafa Berdaya Program is one form of implementation by CSR Kessos that must be appreciated.
“This is the first productive social institution in Indonesia. As the Governor, I will support all matters relating to the progress of society, both large and small scale activities,” said HD.
He asked the company to help each other and cooperate in distributing CSR funds for community empowerment. As for the banking sector, HD emphasized that it is necessary to provide convenience in providing KUR Micro credit, Super Micro KUR in the context of national economic recovery amid the Covid 19 pandemic.
Not only that, he also appealed to BUMN / BUMD companies in regencies / cities to grow the Dhuafa Berdaya Movement through donations by its employees.
“The Dhuafa Berdaya Movement is not just a sharing movement between the rich and the poor. But it is a sharing movement between dhuafa. They can help each other and share in this movement,” he concluded.
The declaration of the Productive Social Institution and the Dhuafa Berdaya Program was marked by the delivery of aid in the form of 160 blankets for the residents of the orphanage by the Head of the TP PKK South Sumatra, Feby Deru.
Feby Deru also gave her appreciation for CSR Kessos South Sumatra. According to him, this is a good collaboration between stakeholders in South Sumatra.
The South Sumatra PKK Driving Team (TP), Feby continued, would also try to provide assistance according to the needs of the residents of the orphanage.
“We continue to strive to provide assistance according to their needs. The most important thing is how later they can recover and live normally and return to society,” she said.
On the other hand, the Head of South Sumatra Social Service, Mirwansyah, also expressed his gratitude to the South Sumatra Kessos CSR which has helped to realize the Productive Social Institution and the Dhuafa Berdaya Movement.
“There are 180 residents in this social institution. Those who are involved in land use are those who have been able to communicate well. Hopefully this 7 hectare land can really be utilized as well as possible,” he hoped.
Meanwhile, the Head of the South Sumatra Kessos CSR Forum, J. Rianthony Nata Kesuma, said that productive social institutions were deliberately initiated together with the South Sumatra Social Service to empower residents of the orphanage by utilizing productive land as agricultural land and livestock.
On that occasion, a donation of 7500 masks was also carried out from the Chairman of the South Sumatra Kessos CSR Forum, J. Rianthony Nata Kesuma which was received by the South Sumatra Provincial Government’s Assistant 1 for Government and People’s Welfare, Akhmad Najib to represent the Governor. In addition, Feby Roar was also spreading fish seeds in the ODGJ PGOT fish pond as well as marking the opening of the fishing competition for the Governor’s Cup. (imf/ril)
