South Sumatra Governor Installs New Karang Taruna Board, Calls for Youth Leadership in Development

Palembang, Berita Rakyat Sumatera – South Sumatra Governor H. Herman Deru, accompanied by Vice Governor H. Cik Ujang, officially inaugurated the new management board of Karang Taruna (Youth Social Organization) of South Sumatra Province for the 2025–2030 term. The ceremony took place solemnly at Griya Agung Hall, Palembang, on Saturday (July 19, 2025).

The inauguration was marked by the reading of Governor’s Decree No. 481/KPTS/DINSOS/2025, officially appointing approximately 75 members of the provincial Karang Taruna management board for the next five years.

In his remarks, Governor Deru emphasized the importance of strengthening the organization’s role and capacity. He urged the new board to maximize its potential, while also evaluating past programs to ensure continuous improvement.

“My highest appreciation goes to the outgoing board for their dedication and service. To the newly inaugurated board, congratulations. Let us work together to contribute meaningfully to South Sumatra’s development,” Deru said.

The Governor also called on all Karang Taruna members to remain united in building synergy and collaboration, stressing the importance of perseverance, innovation, and sincerity in serving the community.

Meanwhile, the newly appointed Chairman of South Sumatra Karang Taruna, Yudha Novanza Utama, expressed the board’s commitment to work hand-in-hand with the provincial government in realizing the vision of Sumsel Maju untuk Semua (Advanced South Sumatra for All).

“We are ready to contribute actively through real programs that directly benefit society,” Yudha affirmed.

National Chairman of Karang Taruna, H. Didik Mukrianto, SH., MH., also praised the active role of South Sumatra’s Karang Taruna, noting its success in nurturing many future leaders across various sectors. He expressed his gratitude to Governor Deru for his continuous support.
