South Sumatra Provincial Government Wins Three Awards at 2024 Bhumandala Awards

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The South Sumatra Provincial Government has won 3 (three) awards at once at the 2024 Bhumandala Award Event organized by the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI).

The three prestigious national-level awards were received directly by the Acting Governor of South Sumatra Elen Setiadi, S.H., M.S.E, at the Grand Studio Metro TV Jakarta, Monday (4/11/2024) evening.

The three awards in question include: (1) Bhumandala Kanaka (Gold Medal) for the Bhumandala Province category for Geospatial Information Network Node (IG) Performance. (2) The South Sumatra Provincial Government also won the Bhumandala Ariti Award (Bronze Medal) for the Bhumandala Province Topographic Name Category. And the (3rd) award, the South Sumatra Provincial Government won the Best Geoportal Award.

Head of BIG, Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Muh Aris Marfai, S.Si, M.Sc. said, this award is one form of implementation of coaching and improvement of network nodes and also geospatial information management.

“The Bhumandala event is a form of BIG appreciation to ministries/institutions and also local governments, which have organized network nodes well,” he said.

Meanwhile, Acting Governor of South Sumatra Elen Setiadi expressed his gratitude to the organizers who had given 3 awards at once to the South Sumatra Provincial Government.

“The three awards given by the organizers to the South Sumatra Provincial Government are proof that what we have done so far has been considered very good by various groups and we will continue to maintain this and even improve it in the future,” said Elen briefly.

For your information, BIG has the task of carrying out government duties in the field of geospatial information. formulation, preparation of plans, and implementation of functional supervision. In carrying out its duties and functions, BIG is coordinated by the Minister responsible for research and technology.

Present at the event were the Coordinating Minister for the Economy of the Republic of Indonesia Airlangga Hartarto, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono, and the Head of the Region who received the award. (mhn/ril)
